Description

The Ogden High School Pool Renovation and Addition was a careful design collaboration between NWL Architects and consultants that resulted in a majorly successful overhaul and replacement of an aging competition pool. In the project, the existing 6-lane, 4-foot shallow-end pool was removed and replaced with a new 8-lane, 7-foot shallow-end pool with a recreational diving board, as well as a 2,800-square-foot addition that included a swimmer’s staging area and pool equipment room. Coordination of numerous trades was paramount to the 15,000-square-foot project, as plumbing, mechanical, electrical, lighting, and sound systems were all removed and replaced, and a new fire sprinkling system was installed. Locker rooms, restrooms, the office area, and the balcony were all reconfigured to meet both ADA compliance standards and the district's evolving needs, while the pool was seismically upgraded, re-roofed, and equipped with a new skylight. Additionally, the existing site was modified to include ADA-accessible entrances and to accommodate the new addition. The new pool was a much-needed upgrade for the Ogden School District, and even more importantly, for the Ogden High School Tigers.
