In the desert, the cerulean sky is wide, and the land is stark. For the wild mustangs of the American West, this rugged landscape is home. For the Crimson Cliffs Middle School Mustangs, a dazzling desertscape is home, along with a cutting-edge campus that serves as an academic home for students’ hopes, dreams, knowledge, and growth. NWL Architects welcomed the opportunity to design the school along with its neighboring sister school, Crimson Cliffs High School, which established a new standard of educational design excellence for the Washington County School District. The 165,971-square-foot middle school was built to accommodate the burgeoning population of young people in the area while equipping students and teachers with the latest in learning tools and classroom technology. The middle school stands in a campus-style arrangement with its sister high school and shares its CTE vocational facility and physical education complex. Both schools were completed in time for the fall semester of 2019.
