NWL Architects programmed and designed renovation solutions that addressed this aging facility's top priority issues. Multiple options were developed in consultation with stakeholders, and a phased construction plan was carefully "designed" to eliminate any impact on student education and safety. Concern over entry prompted a new front entrance lobby and exterior plaza directly from new visitor parking through a secure vestibule and into the public areas of the building. The public face of this important educational structure was greatly improved through the modernization of the exterior skin. A 24-foot-wide circulation spine connects previously inaccessible north parking lot areas to the student commons and dining area and stretches through the building to the new main entry. Additionally, redesigned science labs have been upgraded with technology and casework.
