Description

The replacement of T.O. Smith Elementary School in Ogden, Utah was much more than just a name change; it was a transformative educational upgrade for the area’s K-6 populace. Despite the project’s tight site, NWL Architects was able to meet project challenges head-on with cohesive planning, dynamic design, and regular meetings with community members and students. NWL collaborated closely with Ogden City School District to provide the best possible construction phasing options so that students could attend school on site during the school’s construction. While the District ultimately decided to move the students off site during the new build, students would have been able to attend school on site during construction with minimal disruption. The award-winning $22,363,000 Liberty Elementary was completed in late summer 2022 and opened for school in August 2022. With modern security features and the latest in classroom and learning technology, the 84,000-square-foot school provides an innovative and inclusive learning environment that grows and inspires young minds.
